Terms and Conditions

Effective date: 2026-10-14. Hosted service operator: Chandimal Adikari, Australia. Contact: skillidaus@gmail.com.

Using the service

These terms apply to the hosted beergame.io service. Read them before using it. If you act for an organisation, ensure you have authority. Teachers are responsible for appropriate classroom permissions and supervision. Beer Game is an educational simulation; simulated cases and costs are not real products or charges.

Public beta

The service is a free public beta. Features, screens and these terms may change as the service develops. Games in progress end when the service is updated or restarted, and the service does not keep results, so download any results you want to keep before leaving a game. Please report problems and suggestions to skillidaus@gmail.com.

Acceptable use

Do not attack or overload the service, guess other groups' room codes, intercept others' sessions, harass players, submit unlawful content or misrepresent results. Share codes only with intended participants. We may restrict access reasonably to address abuse, security incidents or legal requirements.

Games and availability

The service is provided for learning, not business forecasting or high-stakes assessment. Hosts coordinate WebRTC games and must stay connected. Games can be interrupted or lost. Unfinished games can be resumed from the same browser for a limited time, but there is no host migration, and a server restart ends every game in progress. When a direct connection between browsers isn't possible, multiplayer traffic is relayed through Cloudflare's TURN service, although some school or workplace networks may still block it. Classroom time includes network delay. No uninterrupted availability or capacity level is promised.

Your content and privacy

You retain your rights in content you submit and permit the processing and display needed to operate your game. Do not submit confidential or sensitive information. The Privacy Policy explains processing and sharing. Other participants may export or record visible results.

Software and branding

The source code is separately licensed under the MIT License and, as that license states, is provided "as is", without warranty; these hosted-service terms do not restrict rights granted by that license. Third-party components retain their licenses. The project name, domain and branding do not grant a right to imply endorsement or impersonate the operator.

Paid services

This release contains no subscription checkout or billing system. If paid plans are offered later, pricing, inclusions, renewal, cancellation and refund information must be presented before purchase. No payment obligation arises merely from playing this version.

Provided as is

The service, the simulation and all content are provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", as a public beta for education. To the extent permitted by law, we give no warranties, guarantees or representations of any kind, express or implied, including about availability, accuracy, reliability, security, learning outcomes or fitness for a particular purpose, or that games, results or data will be kept or be free of errors. The simulation is a simplified teaching model and must not be relied on for business, financial or professional decisions. You use the service at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the service, including lost games, results or data, interrupted lessons or assessments, decisions made using the simulation, or problems caused by third-party services such as hosting and networking providers. The operator is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss. Where liability cannot be excluded but may be limited, it is limited, at the operator's option, to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.

Your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right, remedy or guarantee that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified, including under the Australian Consumer Law. Where such a law applies, the sections above apply only to the extent that law allows.

Ending use, changes and disputes

You can stop using the service at any time. We may change or retire features and will give reasonable notice of material service or terms changes where practicable and required by law. Contact skillidaus@gmail.com first to discuss a concern. Australian law applies subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you; these terms do not remove access to a competent court or regulator.
